Gallop race

Last Updated: Jul 17, 2014 02:37PM CEST
The gallop is one of the horse’s four basic gaits and the one, which is hardest to control. In a gallop race, the horse races with the jockey on top in a three-beat gait, in which the horse’s feet are off the ground at the same time during each strike. In this race type, the jockey’s weight plays an important factor. Galloping a horse at a moderate speed is known as breeze.
