Jockey responsibilities

Last Updated: Jul 17, 2014 03:17PM CEST
Horse jockeys are generally employed by the horse’s owner, trainer, or even both as independent contractors, or freelancers. Jockeys do not own the horse they ride. They are merely  responsible for the upkeep of their equipment such as saddles, crops, pants, and so forth. Jockey must have a riding license and be at least 16 years old.
